A customer of mine today told me that my hair really suited me. Completely out of the blue. Well, I knew something was coming, the way he stared awkwardly at me for several moments, but I honestly didn't think it was going to be that.

All right, there's no make up on, and I'm still wearing my glasses (and pjs for that matter.) but the hair is awesome.  I didn't know it could do this!  Without gel!  How totally wicked is that!  I'll have to flatten it out for work, alas, but still.

Makes me like it better.

Author's note: This was actually funny in person. I laughed even. I've shortened the whole exchange, of course (I'm lazy and don't remember exact details) but this is essentially how it all happened. This regular, by the by, is relatively 'new' and hasn't gotten the "A. just isn't really all that friendly." memo.

I was at the Oak tonight (there is not surprise in that statement is there?) and one of the regulars looked at me and said, "Did you get a haircut?"

I replied, "Yes, but I don't like it. It's too short. So don't mention it again. Don't stare at my hair. I just.....don't, ok? You shouldn't have said anything in the first place. I mean, noticing - that just proves it's too short."

"No, no!" he replied really quickly, "I like it! It looks good. You didn't do it 'cause of what R. said...."

"No, I was already planning on it," nervous fidgiting with lack of hair, "..but I don't want to talk about it. I don't like it. It's waaaaaay too short."

"Well, it looks good. I like it. Cute."

"What part of 'I don't want to talk about it' is hard for you? Just...be a guy and don't notice, ok?" More nervous fidgiting with hair.

About a half hour later, the lady sitting next to me, turns around and tells me that she likes my hair and that I can 'get away with' short hair.

Ok, yes, whatever, stop mentioning it already!

Two weeks, two weeks, two weeks, two weeks, two weeks.....

Ok, haircut is not so good. The bangs are too short, the sides are too short....it'll be fine in a week or two, but it's going to be a pain in the, uh, hairline?, getting there.

I got a letter about one of the positions (and no plastikgyrl, it wasn't that one. Still haven't heard about that one.) regretting to inform me blah blah blah.

I pushed a kid off a bike today. In all fairness, he was riding his bike down the sidewalk on Bank street, and I kept shifting to get out of his way, but between him on the bike, and the lady with the walker beside me.....well, when he ran his bike into me, and I started flailing, I sort of maybe kind of flaid specifically in his direction.

I bought a big ole can of air today. quotation, it was more like a quarter of a cat. I also bought a keyboard brush, which I used, and promptly found the missing quarter of the half a cat that quotation had predicted was in Lucie.

I found a recipe in a cookbook! As soon as I can be bothered to put pants back on, I'll go to the grocery store and buy what I need. If anyone's hungry around 7 pm, I'll have food ready by then.

I have a car!

Well, for today I have a car. I have an eye doctor's appointment tomorrow out in Kemptville, so my sister drove me out this afternoon, and I've borrowed my mom's car.

I'll still bus to work tomorrow, as the bus fare is cheaper than parking a car at Tunney's, even for 2 hours. My appointment isn't until the afternoon, so I have plenty of time to get home, eat, then drive out.

Have I mentioned that I hate driving? Hate it with a passion. I'm fine on country/back roads, or even the 416. But the Queensway? Just shoot all the other drivers please. There's no need to go 80 Km in the middle lane. There's no need to go 254392746502 Km in the slow lane. Drives. Me. Nuts. haha.

Oh, also, hair's on the chopping block tomorrow. I'll try to get a few "before" pictures, so that there's something to compare to.

They only way I can do anything with my hair, is when it's wet. It won't co-operate when it's dry, but when it's wet, I can at least manage to get it to do something approximately near what I was sort of hoping for in the first place.

Of course then my hair won't dry (last time I tried this, it was still wet 14 hours later). But it will look pretty, so it's a bit of a toss up.

So, just over 72% of you said "short pixie cut" which is cool. I've had a short pixie cut before, and I'll show the results of *that* haircut, under this lj-cut.

Now, ignore that colour, I haven't decided if I'll be dying or not, but essentially, that's what I look like with short hair. Roughly. Just age the photos a few years.

So it's been a while since I've had my hair cut. I need to do *something* with this mop on my head, and having done almost everything once, I don't know what to do now. So, without further ado,

It's hair cut time! What to do?

So much for walking downtown today. I was going to go and deposit my roommate's rent money (yes, he gives me money, and not a cheque) and then go to MAC -- I have six empty containers! Yay -- free lipstick! Doesn't look like any of that will be happening any time soon.

I did manage to walk down to Carleton and print off an application form for the Canada Council for the Arts, though. And do some mailing, and pick up some envelopes. I also returned my video, and stopped by work to pick up a few things on the same trip. So it hasn't been an unproductive day, I was just hoping to get more done.

I'm feeling much better today after my Saturday from hell. My body was under the belief that it would feel better if my lungs were on the outside, rather than the inside. Thankfully, I only had to work for three hours. I did, however, get up early to sell some of the stuff that had accumulated in my apartemnt. I made $130 at the garage sale -- and the most expensive thing I was selling was a DVD for $3. I figured, how much could I really get for "Attack of the Clones?"

Oh, and yesterday? Dyed my hair again. After years of being good and not touching it, and finding out what my natural colour is, I've started to dye it again. That can't be a good sign. I think it's like the time that I took a pair of scissors to it, and hacked it all off. Gave myself a cute little elf-like haircut, actually. I quite liked it. Hmmmm.......

The Shoppers Drug Mart at Laurier/Bank has moved the hair dye to *right* beside the door. As in, you have to walk right by it to get in. NOOOO!

I'm now $8 poorer, but have redder hair. More red hair? I don't know. Whichever one is grammatically correct.

My bulemic cat just puked all over my futon, bag, and floor. Then she ran into my room and puked in there too. I can still smell something.....wonder if she got around the computer?

My hair actually looks good today! I'm still going to go and get it cut soon. As soon as I have time, which will be sometime around....never, most likely.
