Got the scanner thing worked out - thanks everyone! ([info]plastikgyrl, next time I need one, I'm coming over to your house with knitting and tea!)

My new question for everyone is: Does anyone want to see Wynton Marsalis with me? He's playing at Confederation Park on June 20th, at 8:30. Tickets are $30, but we could forgo the tickets and just sit outside the park on the sidewalk and listen.

Went to see Corb Lund and Great Big Sea last night. Ended up seeing some Brazilian band/guy play on the Blacksheep Stage instead. I went originally with my mom and a friend of hers, but met up with [info]clumsy_me, [info]sa_sagesse and [info]mr_rhodes shortly after arriving.

Then I met up with the guy that I'm sort of seeing (I think we're dating, but I don't want to jinx anything, so I'm not going to say anything.) and we managed to lose everyone between the Blacksheep Stage and the Main Stage, which was ok. We watched Great Big Sea together, which was nice. Very low-key third date, but lots of fun, and lots of outdoors-fresh-air-ness.

After that he and I headed to his place to chill a bit. He's away this weekend, but so am I. I'm visiting relatives on Sunday, and heading out to Kemptville later on today.

So that's pretty much my evening. I had fun, I slept with my contacts in, I got lots of hugs and kisses which always puts me in a better mood.

Weakerthans and back pain

Anyone want to go see the Weakerthans in concert on June 20? I think tickets are about $25.

On another note: My back went into spasm last night, I took two advils (the girl who never takes anything took two. This is almost unheard of) and went to sleep. Acutally, first I took a phone call, and apparently I sounded drunk.

Niether the advil nor the sleeping helped, and my back still hurts. I can sit fine, I can lie down fine (not that I'll need to during the day) but standing and walking are the killers.

Live! From Whiney Land:

I so rarely go into whiney territory, that I don't feel bad for doing so now.

I felt nausous all day yesterday. Then, around 4, something moved into my throat and took up shop. I've had a sore throat for about a week now, but this was that made it hurt to swallow, and felt like a small boulder got lodged in there. I woke up without it, but it seems to be back now.

For various reasons (work, laundry, previous engagment, bad date) I've been out every night since Monday. And my gods, how one person can stand so many crappy nights in one go is beyond me!

Last night, around 6, I had to literally drag myself to get ready for the concert. But I figured, I can't let [info]bambiblue down. Little did I know. I arrived at the venue, shuffled inside with the rest of the concert-goers, and we all waited. And waited. And waited. And then the first opening band went on. And they played slow, jazzy funeral music. And my back started to hurt -- right where I have the pinched nerve. Which usually means that I'm going to lose the ability to stand, very very quickly. (I didn't, but anyway)

After a half hour of play, and a half hour of empty stage, the second band went on. I've never heard anyone try so hard to sound like Kim Mitchell.

Feist went on at 11. By 11:10, I was out the door. She opened with a slow, langorous song, which was nice, but I've been standing, bored, for 2 hours. Open with something that will get me excited -- Mushaboom, say.

Anyway, I've now got a raging headache, my eyes are dry, and my back still hurts, and the evening was a bust.

I found my Viva Glam V lip gloss today.

It was in the mailbox. Of course. 'Cause where else would it have been?

Feist tonight. [info]bambiblue and I are currently making meeting up plans. Anyone else going? Want to meet up with two hot chicks? Let us know!

My throat hurts, my ears are stuffed. Please be non-existent allergies.

Lost kicked my ass.  Obviously, I should have paid more attention in high school science class.

Lost spoliers alerts, for those watching tomorrow )

I wore a bindi for several hours today.  A hot pink one.  Worked in it, grocery shopped in it, ordered a cd.  Nothing.  Not one word.  C'mon  people!  Large bright pink sparkly dot on my forhead!  I do these things for the comments, not my own well-being!

Got my tickets to see Flook on Friday at the National Archives Theater.  So very excited.

June 1 and 6 -- Cherrybomb's in town, playing at Babylon and Zaphod's.
July 16 -- Cuff the Duke plays the Bluesfest.

Oh yeah. I'm excited. Both of them have new albums out. Sweet. My summer of music is shaping up nicely.

It's a (not) so cold day

While the temperature isn't expected to reach the "normal" temperature for today, it's not the coldest it's ever been, either. That would be -2.2C, back in 1950. Yikes! I was wondering if it's now fall -- last Tuesday was really warm, maybe that was summer.

I'm thinking about heading down to Toronto near the end of June to see people. I got all nostalgic last night, thinking about handing out red and white carnations on Canada Days past, with [info]thereisnodog,  and theatre stuff with [info]thatthingido.  This is a heads up.  I get one weekend off a month, so I think my weekend in June, I'll take a bus down, get a hostel room, and annoy everyone, including the two above, but also Ryestar, who I won't bother linking to.

I'm getting Green Day tickets today.  Hooray!  I saw them play at the Civic Centre eons ago -- back in their Dookie days.  I think that's the concert that a friend of mine (*cough*simon*cough*) got kicked out of for throwing a hacky sack.  At least, I think it was a hacky sack.

I needed that hour!

I really could have used that extra hour of sleep last night.

I went to the Weakerthans concert with [info]plastikgyrl last night.  The show was great, once they got on.  After two very unmemorable bands, the Constantines got on stage.  Their bass player is a freak.  He was wearing an acid washed jean vest, and had "flock of seagulls" hair.  Yikes!  Anyway, the Weakerthans were great.  I'm certainly a fan now!  I had been planning on getting home before 1 am -- I caught the 1:19 bus home.  I could have walked -- true, but it was raining, I was tired, and I just wanted to get home, get the contacts out and fall asleep in my bed.

I did run into bracelet boy, only I didn't bother saying anything.  He saw me, but didn't try to approach me.  However, I did get a phone call at 3:30 am (new time.) from "caller id blocked."  Usually, if the person is calling from an extension, it says "caller id unavaliable."  So I'm assuming that whoever it was, purposefully blocked their number.  *grrr*  I have no idea who it was -- I didn't get to the phone (I was asleep when it rang, then couldn't find my purse) before it stopped ringing, and whoever it was didn't leave a message.

I had to get up to go to work today -- I was so tired!  Add to that that my eyes were sore and dry -- I forwent the contacts today.  I had them in for a long time yesterday.

I stayed away from the beer last night -- stuck with vodka.  Mmm.....vodka.  No hangover today -- somehow.  I should have had one.  I still have my cold, too, so I don't know what's going on.

I know this is a little disjointed, but I'm still tired, and my back hurts.
